Donna Chase, Vice President of Business and General Aviation Customer Support
This year’s 61st Annual meeting of the National Business Aviation Association – the renowned NBAA Conference was just as busy as prior years’ events. Located in Orlando, Florida, show organizers concluded the event attracted 30,811 people, which is outstanding considering the cost of fuel and a challenging economy.
At the event, our business introduced 17 new products and services and I would like to highlight a couple of our exciting products.
• IntuVue™ Advanced 3D Weather Radar -- Honeywell’s 3-D hazard detection and avoidance system, IntuVue™, is the latest in advanced weather radar technology. It is the first fully automatic weather radar system certified to the FAA’s Enhanced Turbulence Detection Minimum Operation Performance Standard (MOPS), improving pilots’ ability to see and avoid weather, wind shears and turbulence sooner. • Go Direct™ Services – The Go Direct™ Services provide aircraft operators with database validation services to help them file flight plans under the Federal Aviation Administration’s Required Navigation Performance (RNP) program. RNP allows aircraft to land in congested airspace and in difficult terrain, which means safer and more direct approaches and departures, increased operational efficiencies and reduced operating costs, noise and emissions by reducing diversions. We also announced exciting news that the Honeywell HTF7250G, the newest member of the HTF7000 family of engines will power the new Gulfstream G250 business jet. The HTF7250G incorporates new green technology into the HTF7000 family with the latest in Honeywell’s low emissions SABRE combustor technology to reduce NOx, CO and HC emissions.
Honeywell also announced our 17th annual Business Aviation Outlook at the 2008 NBAA, forecasting delivery of approximately 17,000 new business aircraft now through 2018. To access the entire press release, [Click Here].
The NBAA conference is an important event that gives us an opportunity to recognize our customers and thank them for doing business with us. We provide program and technical updates for our customers through our Maintenance & Operations (M&O) sessions, and overall support and service for those seeking assistance with their Honeywell equipment or service offerings.
More importantly, the conference provides us the chance to meet with many of our key customers and get their feedback on the progress we are making in customer service and in delivering a great customer experience. I personally received feedback from customers that was very positive and feedback that recognizes we have some opportunities for improvement, both of which are welcome as we strive to be the best in customer service and support.
Thank you to everyone that helped in making this year’s conference a success.
I welcome your comments.
